Hello, a company contacted me the other day offering me a loan, the company is called something like " UK loans organised ltd", the loan was at an acceptable rate and this was a direct lender with no brokerage or paperwork fees and i have been accepted and the money is ready to be deposited, however when i was passed through to the accounts team and we were ready to finalize my application they hit me with a bombshell that i have to pay the tax rate on the loan of £120 for legal reasons and if it was not paid and they put the loan money in my account they are breaking the law. I have never heard of tax being payed on a loan in the UK but if anyone has any ideas about the reliability of this company or the tax issue please help me out as im in dire need of a loan to.
Thank you
Thank you

Regardless of any payment of money up front, which is presumably some sort of scam. If you hadn't asked them for a loan, why would you then think that it was a good idea to get a loan. Just because they offered you a loan that is no reason to accept it.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
I thought common sense was very common. I also received a call yesterday from someone offering me free food for the rest of my life.I owe £3233 @ 0%0

Glad to hear it, and glad you're safe. It's a type of fraud known as AFF (Advance Fee Fraud) and known in Nigeria (where statistics bear out over 80% of AFF originates) as '419' named after the section of their penal code it violates. This is just another form of "my brother, the king, left $xM but I need your help to get it out of the country" - promises of easy riches after paying a "small fee" first. It is a more insidious kind as it appears more believable at first glance, but you recognised it smelt odd, and did the right thing by asking. You can also try 'scamwarners.com' in the future, the guys and gals there are very, very knowledgeable about all the types of scams.
And we have our own share of institutionalised AFF iin this country - all the fake loan brokers who take a fee without finding you a loan. Subtly different, but essentially the same.0
