Just a question...

Having just returned to this forum after a break of 2 years, within the first week having helped people with their questions, I'm realising why I took a break in the first place.

I would say that all of the advisers who post on this forum do so not to tout for business but to HELP people.

People who ask q's on here because they obviously can't get the answer elsewhere (from another adviser or via their lender).

In return, I've had responses to my posts, and also seen one thread just bashing brokers in general based on one experience (not with anyone on here).

What exactly are people looking for?

You go to a solicitor, and you won't get any more than half an hour of their time without a charge.

Advisers are on here helping people for no recompense - just to have it thrown back in our faces.

As advisers we all have families to feed, bills to pay like the rest of you - we're normal people.

That doesn't mean that we have to give our services for 'free' but we do it on here because we want to help people.

I've seen my industry being pilloried by all and sundry over the last few years - and I'm sick and tired of it.

The mortgage advisers that remain are the ones who DIDN'T - stitch people up, sell for no reason, and commit fraud - because the FSA have weeded them out.

I don't want people to feel sorry for us, but what I would like to see is an acceptance that we DO know what we are talking about. Anyone can sit on a comparison site and 'think' that they can get a deal, the key is HOW do you do it and do you qualify?

Give us a break, or there won't be many advisers left on here to help you.

(this post has been made just by me and not in conjunction with any other adviser on here, just so you know).

    1. I see no technical reason of this post/thread, if I was a moderator, this thread would have been elsewhere.

    2. If you were unhappy with any response, you should have used the "report" option.

    3. I have respect for all trades [including yours] and I value that people take their time out to help others on this forum.

    4. You must acknowledge that any negative feedback is not personal, people are sharing their experiences on an open [sort of] forum.

    5. Any one with the slightest of common sense wouldn't put all advisers/brokers in same bucket and assume they are all rogues. And those who do....you wouldn't want to do business with them in the first place.

I personally have benefited and acquired a lot of knowledge from posters here and I am very grateful that such a forum exists. You must realise that the beauty of this forum is people [new users and old] being able to be completely honest with their posts/experiences/opinions. My opinion of brokers has changed purely because of help I have received here, I will still be loud to share any bad experience in real life, its human nature.

    oohh and welcome back :-)

I have faith in people and I know there will always be someone willing to help out regardless of what people say/post. Your input would be missed though.
