Nbt2 form

Hi there

Could really do with some advice and reassurance. I was declared br in early April and since then I have received notification from the OR that he has placed a charge over my home (jointly owned by myself and my-ex). My ex-husband decided also to go bankrupt recently and just two weeks later he received an info pack from the OR including an ntb2 form. I unfortunately was unaware of this form as I have not received anything like this from the OR. I intend to contact the OR's office this week to see what is happening.

Will this have a detrimental effect on my br?

Thanks for your help :)

You don't need to worry about not having signed the NTB2 form. It won't affect your BR in anyway. The OR usually sends it out to bankrupts early on to make sure they are fully aware of the duties and responsibilities of bankruptcy (reduces wriggle room if people then misbehave).

However, I've known more than one case where the examiner has simply forgotten to send it out and even after its completed it simply gets put on file (in most cases to never be referred to ever again).

To put your mind at ease I agree its a good idea to give the OR a ring on Monday and see what's going on.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.

It actually can affect yur bankruptcy, The OR can ask the court to suspend your discharge if they dont get a signed NTB2 back. BUT dont worry they would only do that after sending you several and not getting a response by somewhere near the end of the bankruptcy. This early on all you need to do is tell them and they will send another copy to you

Thank you so much for your replies. I am naturally concerned as I thought it may affect me if the OR's office suggested I received the form but did not send it back. However I haven't received anything from the OR, neither nbt2 or TNIDIS. I have only just discovered today that I should have gotten these things but didn't, so I am stressing out quite a bit.

I am not even sure who my OR is, I presumed it was the person named on the 6.28 form which puts a charge over the house. Would this be correct? Sorry for sounding stupid, I did my best prior to br to read up and check everything out, so I feel annoyed at myself for not being aware of these forms!
