Options
Hi,

Can you fly direct from Belfast to Florida? If not, what is the best way to fly to Florida?

Thanks

You can fly direct with a package. Pretty sure there are places that still do it but can't think off the top of my head. There are 3 other options however:

Belfast > Newark (New York) > Orlando .... Continental
Belfast > London > Orlando .... multiple including Virgin
Belfast > Dublin > Orlando .... Aer Lingus

Obviously with each option you have to weigh up travel time, driving costs, bus costs, hotels costs etc etc. I've done the return Orlando > Newark > Belfast flights and to be honest it wasn't that bad. Cases taken directly through, no extra security checks for the internal US flight, straight into the departure area so no camel trek between terminals. Not sure of costs now but I do recall hearing that they were thinking of pulling out of Belfast due to taxes but not 100% sure on if/when.

We go dublin to orlando with aer lingus. Have done a few times. When we looked at indirect from belfast we weren't sure abt makin the connecting plane. Goin direct takes the worry of that away, but you do have to drive/get bus to dublin.

Going again in November :) and I think you do immigration at Dublin now so would speed it up on the other side.

We're going with Virgin Holidays staying the night before in London. Couldn't afford to stop up the full air fare for everyone. The pricing is very weird. I found it was cheaper going indirect from Dublin (flying over to London first) than goingdirect with Aer Lingus. Very strange

    Hi
Thomas cook used to fly direct but not anymore, they have cut it to one flight in july.
We have been to florida lots of times and have gone from belfast indirect, dublin indirect and from london as well.
Aer lingus do a direct flight from dublin at certain times of the year but indirect is usually cheaper.
Most of the US flights now clear immigration in dublin so this makes it a lot easier on the other side even if you go indirect and have a connection.
We travelled indirect with continental from belfast and cleared immigration in newark and then connected, we have also done a stopover in new york for a few days with continental and then travelled on to florida.

We travelled this year over the easter hols with US Airways and got our flights for less than £400.

    HTH:)
