Never had it as a child - but did discover it in Betty's so recreated it at home. Have to admit that I had forgotten all about it until this post, so will introduce the kids to it on Saturday morning. Yummy!

We had it as a teatime treat sometimes and there was a recipe for it in my first ever cookbook (adult assistance needed as sugar can be very hot) so I think of it as old fashioned rather than posh - after all, the ingredients are very cheap.

    that's Betty's!

I had it in Sydney too, so it always reminds me of excellent breakfasts!

My MIL introduced cin toast to me and my kids. A lovely simple cheap snack. She is American but has lived here for half of her life so I always thought it was an American snack. She also introduced me to pancakes with maple syrup and bacon...yummy! :j

hehe having read about it last night and having to come up with a veggie meal on the cheap I made this as a kind of desert! Girlfriend couldn't eat much because of her diet but very nice. Must add more cinamon though!
