DIY Fairy light backdrop?

I want to make one as i cant afford to rent one at like ...........£200 im doing a full on frugal wedding but making it look like lots of money!!!

please dont judge but im wanting to know if their is any sites out there that can help me or if anyone has done this?

also wanting to light the cake table some how with twinkling lights under table cloth etc to make it look like a beatiful winter wonderland wedding.

the room is only costing me £30 to hire, its a large room with a stage can seat 60 people and take upto 150 in the evening at a marina the room is magnolia all the way and proper wood flooring and the best thing is i can do what the hell i want with the room.

we are also going to see fireworks on our wedding as we are getting married on the 5th of nov the pub lets off fireworks at the marina anyway so we have really fell on our feet!!

any words of wisdom how to do the back drop hide lights etc any extra tips all welcome to make it look beautiful xxxx

    I love frugal weddings!
For the cake table.... Id suggest putting fairy lights onnthe table then use a piece of clear acrylic the size of the table about a inch high, using acrylic blocks super glued to it as the supports. Then using plain voile as a table cloth over it.

For backdrops..... mdf with holes drilled for the bulbs with voile loosly draped and attached with staple gun? I bought voile at £1.35 a meter last week at ponden mill so for not too much money could make a lot of draping!

we are doing something similar for our sweet buffet table,

purple satin table cloth, then 2 sets of battery operated fairy lights then some beautiful ivory organza with stuck on diamontes over the top and it looks fab

How about a fairy light net behind the cake table or the head table and then cover it with organza or voile?

    Like this perhaps?
