Whilst I don't doubt that someone's postings have helped you, be aware that anyone can post information on the web, always seek face to face information in the first instance. As a mature student myself, there's nothing like using your uni services and actually asking the lecturers for further information.0

Thank you Doodlebug, but I agree with Alyth. Not only can anyone post, and be anything the want, on the web, but also the web provides only a snapshot of a problem. The intricacies of employment law cannot be fully explored in these circumstances, and advice can be very restricted, and often is. If you are fortunate enough to have the resources of a university you should use them.0

Which is correct of course, however, I find that SarEl interprets employment legislation clearly in laymans terms in relation to the many diverse situations that posters find themselves in employment.
Some posters may not like to see the harsh reality of their situation however, S.E's no nonsense approach tells it how it is - like it or not.
She is undoubtedly an asset to these boards.0 -

I quite agree - she has a definite skill in stating the law in an easy to understand way.
I have not been on this board for long ( since hubby lost his job) but Sar Els advice has always struck me as being very easy to understand0 -
It's not just SarEl, Emmzi, kiki, richardwebster and dmg24 are just a few of the qualified people who give-up info on here free of charge.

Very kind, but I have to correct you to say that I'm not an employment lawyer, so I'd hate for anyone to take my advice as such!
But I'll have a diet coke.
' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
But you are qualified! You don't have to be a lawyer to be qualified. There's stuff that I am rubbish at that is too simple for lawyers - and I realise that came out all wrong! We do what we do and others do what they do - different sides of a coin0
