Where can you buy "long" spaghetti in central Scotland?

random post, stay with me!

My parents have asked me where they can buy "long" spaghetti - my mom has a jar about perhaps 2/3 foot long that they keep the spaghetti in, but apparently it's impossible to buy it now. I work in a supermarket and we don't sell it, they've tried Lidl/Aldi/the big 4 and none of them stock it.

They live in the Stirling area and I live in Perthshire - does anyone know anywhere in either locality that I can get this long spaghetti in - I've googled but it's mainly on line suppliers that you can get it from.

The things you will do to keep your olds happy! Thanks in advance - if anyone sees any buy it and I will pay postage and costs!

My local morrison's usually has it (Falkirk), but haven't bought it in a few months so not 100% sure that they still do it.

The Sainsbury's website lists Napolina Long Spaghetti (500g), maybe call up Sainsbury's and ask which stores it's in.

If you across the Forth Bridge going west to east, you go pasta shop.

I'm sure I saw some the other day in Lidl- they had a special Italian section it wasn't with the usual pasta etc. It might be worth checking in Lidl again as it may have been a special promo.

Although I haven't been that way for a while, there used to be a terrific Italian deli in Stirling diagonally opposite Iceland in the main drag. There are also a couple of delis in nearby Bridge of Allan and I am sure you'd find what you want there.

thanks for all your suggestions, I'll pass them on - I'm heading down that way next week anyway and was going to try Clive Ramsay in Bridge of Allan but I'll check out my local Lidl as well - appreciate your posts.

The Clive Ramsay deli isn't quite what it used to be I'm afraid. It was closed for a while after going out of business and some new owners took over fairly recently. The new people are very friendly however the stock levels aren't close to what they used to be and I now find it is very expensive. I dropped in on Saturday and treated myself to some Black Bomber cheese which was wonderful but an eye watering £6.69 for a decent chunk which went on roasted cheese on Saturday night for hubby and I. A really expensive snack:o

If you are in the area there is a nice deli within the Dobbies Garden Centre just outside Bridge of Allan (just off the motorway between Dunblane and Stirling). They have fresh baked goods (ginormous scones, enough for lunch!) and a butchers too. I'm now more inclined to go there than Clive Ramsays (not sure what the new name is)

Just had another thought - there is a little deli in Dunblane called Choices - maybe give them a call and see if they have it. It's family run and although I don't remember them having masses of stock they did have more unusual/harder to find goods

I GOT SOME! Bizzarely, in Lidl in Perth this afternoon :-) So I have happy parents....!

Thanks for the heads up about Clive Ramsay, I used to stop off there all the time to buy myself treats, I hadn't realised it had changed hands, in fact I had lunch there about the middle of March and I'm sure it was still Clive Ramsay then.

Glad you got it. Perth is one of my favourite shopping haunts. I always pick up what I need there (and lots that I don't actually need)

Clive Ramsay still own the deli premises but let them out and they do still manage the cafe next door and another one at a golf club nearby.

I haven't been in the cafe for a while - they used to do some very nice lunchtime dishes. Maybe time for a visit:)

I work part time in a supermarket in perth, but I'm sick of eating stuff from there, so had a trawl round Lidl & Aldi today, I'd forgotten how good - and cheap some of their food is. And yes I bought myself much more than I needed, Lidl especially, they do such fantastic things like stuffed olives, cheese, etc!

The lunch I had at Clive Ramsay really was good, I took my mum there for mother's day - you and I should go there seeing as we seem to live in the same area! I used to love the Deli though, they had all the american food like Marshmallow Fluff, Hershey chocolate..... god typing that is making me hungry!
