I've seen a rug that I really like in Habitat. Given all the news recently about potential takeovers etc, is it safe to buy off their website?
Has anyone experience of buying off a website when the company is in trouble?
My head is saying "you may never see your money again" but my heart is saying "that rug would really pull the room together".
what to do?

Could you go into a town and physically buy one.
I wouldnt risk the money online given the trouble theyre in.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
the one in Belfast has closed :-(
I suppose if I bought it with a credit card I would have some protection (would I?)0 -
I read that they will continue trading for 6 months so if the item is in stock you sould be okay. They shouldn't take your money until it has been dispatched anway so I would think it is okay, although if there is a problem with it you may not be able to return it.0

I was under the impression the website, the Habitat name and three London stores had been bought by Home Retail Group, the company that own Argos and Homebase.0

Hi,
Yes the rug is over £100 - here is the link. It is lovely

I was planning to put it on my credit card but when I've added it to my basket it has stuck on £50 for delivery! This is before I have put on my address, so I know its not the normal "Oh it costs extra to send to Northern Ireland" excuse.
I think maybe this rug isn't for me after all :-(0
