Wedding Reception costs

Hi all,
We have decided to book our wedding for next August and have found a lovely place that we both like to hold our reception. We have been and looked around 2 times and have decided that is the place for us. The first initial cost they gave us for 50 people at wedding breakfast and a furhter 30 for evening buffet and drinks packages etc has firstly came to 3950 which we thought was really good and was very happy with the price. Since the first visit we then went back to have another look around with our parents and we mentioned the price and they then said oh yes it wont be that price any more it will be going up by £2.00 per person on everything and then venue hire also went up by 100. Meaning our total now stands at just under 5000, which neither of us are happy about as no one even mentioned that the costs would be going up as usually you pay the fee that is charged on the year of booking I thought?
Anyway I have emailed venue asking for then to reconsider their prices and they have just emailed back the same invoice, so it seems haggling is getting us no where, has anyone else had this and what can people recommend I do as it is a big increase in price that we have not bargained for!
Thanks
