Its a white glass dish placed on a black metal base, inside the dish is a small light bulb with a metal cage and you cover the bulb with various sizes of rock crystals and when it's lit the light glows the through the crystal, I love mine. its in the fireplace gives the illusion of warmth.

    :-)
  • silly question proberly what is it ?
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ~ WOO HOO what a ride!

Not quite what they are (well, not the ones we sell) http://www.thenaturalworld.com/NaturalWorldSite/product/1615132.htm
They are a lamp base (low wattage bulb) and the lamp 'shade' so to speak is made of natural rock salt which apparently absorbs impurities from the air so it is a wellbeing product, they also look very warm and cosy as posted above. Ours sell at £28 (large size) so if the above link is for a genuine rock salt lamp, go for it!

I think that a lot of the salt gets washed off the bulk in the dishwasher rather than the whole thing shrinking! :-) It is advised not to get the lamp wet...
No reliance should be placed on the above.

Can anyone find a review of these things? Are they just a gimmick? I mean a piece of rock salt is very cheap, and then it's just a lamp in it, why are other places trying to sell them for £28 unless they are a gimmick?
