CCCS sent out letters to creditors before I confirmed back to them that it was all ready.

i don't think ras realised at the time that cccs had jumped the gun and done that?

they weren't being nasty. just posted before you explained that the error wasn't yours.

RAS, I'm not argueing with you, I just think you should tone down your advice (unless youre one of these trolls they've warned us about and here just to make things worse??) , people on here are stressed enough without your harsh comments. This forum is supposed to be about help and support, not making people feel worse about what they have/havent/should/shouldnt have done. You know nothing about what I have or havent done this month so please don't judge or patronise me. I only posted because I was upset and wanted to know if there was a way forward

We have to treat the new posters nicely. Perhaps you should treat long standing posters like RAS nicely? RAS is by no means a troll. There are others who will read this thread who might be about to make your mistake. Perhaps by taking the pain of the comments, this will help them avoid the same mistake. And lets face it, RAS's comments do not make 1 jot of difference to your mistake.

In your position, I would be trying to get payroll to reduce my pay to £1 or even £0 this month, even if it meant no pay until next month into the new account.

Ask your work payroll if there is any way that they can recall the payment. If it goes in on Thursday this week then whilst you may have missed their cut-off for changes to payroll, they may not have yet transferred the money to the bank.

You may need to be honest with your HR Manager or Payroll Manager - they would need to understand that you have problems with the bank at least. Ask them nicely if they can recall your salary and then see if they can give you an advance into a new bank account (as they will have to make a separate payment run) to get you through the month.

Your Payroll should be able to change your payment to a different bank on monday and possibily tuesday. Go and talk to the payroll clerk, who does the pay run, it is not difficult and will take less than 5 mins. But talk to whoever does the pay run and explain the situation.
  • This happened to me this week too, if you phone halifax collections dept and explain what has happened and that you know you are in debt but that you need the money to put food on the table and pay your bills etc they will allow you access to money, you will need to go into the branch to get them to then call collections to authorise the withdrawal but it should be ok, they might ask some questions but just be firm you need the money. I took advice from cccs before calling them. The good thing is that if Halifax have frozen the account then they shouldn't be putting any more charges on.

    Good luck

Agree with others speak to your payroll department first - I suspect you'll be in time to stop the payment. And then ask them to pay you by cheque, you may get your pay late but at least you will get it.
If you have no luck with this then talk to CCCS. You might also want to look into the first right of appropriation - you should be able to send a letter to your bank headed up as such to detail essential bills that you need the money for (which should cover rent, utilities and food at least) and they should allow you that money back - although this won't get you all the salary back it could stop you getting into major problems with priority debts etc). Perhaps ask your CCCS advisor if they think you should still be able to use this and ask them for a template letter.
(Edit - sorry just seen this was posted hours ago!)

Agree with others - RAS is a long-standing member (and you can see from her thanks number is well respected/often thanked member at that. RAS's post are matter of fact and she has given you suggestions as to what you can do to resolve this - nothing like a troll post and if you stick around on the forum (and I hope you do as I'm sure it will help you wth your DMP) you might see some real troll posts and see that you are very wide of the mark to even suggest RAS could be a troll.

People make mistakes and perhaps this is probably the biggest one you can make when it comes to DMP, it's not the end of the world.

Can you email HR at your work now and then first thing Monday morning go and find them?

Also agree with the other posters about RAS I was shocked that someone would point the finger at someone who has over 17,000 posts and been thanked oodles to be a Troll... We don't thank trolls here and I don't think I've ever known a troll to post more than 10 posts before being deleted, it's not how we roll here, you either take peoples advice including a comment that perhaps you haven't been too clever with your dealings or you run to the hills and bury your head in the sand.

We've all done stupid things in the past otherwise the majority of us would never been debt free wannabes..

I hope work can sort you ok and that you learn from this mistake and change your account details xxx
Life is too short not to love what you do.
