Any one in Leicester?

Options
I lived in Leicester till i was 16 and i grew up on food there, since i moved Aberdeen they do admittedly have most of the same food, but things like Pukka pies didn't exists up here till recently when Morrisons started stocking them. Greggs up here dont sell Veggie pasties, only cheese and onion :( and my chip chops all sell this awful dark brown curry sauce that taste disgusting :/ not a pancake roll in sight either :(

Anyone here who knows that delicious yellow curry sauce with the oniony bits in it that most Leicester chip shops sell? ...
Now, who would like to nip to their local chip shop and ask them what its called / the brand name so i can search for some online? :j

I would be your bestest friend forever! lol

hi not sure if you are looking to make your own but i am not too far from leicester and our chip shop curry sauce is a lot like the ones that Bisto do asda do a home brand one and it has bits of onion in it, you just add boiling water to it. http://groceries.asda.com/asda-estore/search/searchcontainer.jsp?trailSize=1&searchString=curry+sauce&domainName=Products&headerVersion=v1&_requestid=76086

  • I have tried asda ones before, but never had the right *onioney* bits... I dont know if they sell it different up here :/
the Chip shop thread is great, they mention the same curry sauce as i got from the Chinese shop the other day which is really delish! but its just not like the Leicester ones.. maybe its only certain stores in Leicester, Im doubting myself now :( I know the chip shop in Braunstone does it how i like and im sure the big one, Grimsby chippy, i think a few in town do as well but its been a year since i was there last and it was 3 years before that :(
Ive tried the Bisto one before and that just tastes awful to me :(

why not look up the chip shop names on the internet and phone them? the worst they can do is to put the phone down but i am sure they will tell you who their supplier is.

Ring Grimsby's Fisheries, find the number on the net somewhere. They are lovely people and will help you out i'm sure.
