40 at 40

I know this has kinda been done for other big birthdays and I like it - any links to other threads helpful please!!!

Basically my hubby is 40 next january and want to make a "hamper" of 40 presents and have been saving since last January just to cope with this!

ideas so far
- flying/hand gliding experience (the big one) - very local company
- meal with friends to fave restaurant (night out) ( although I WON'T be paying for his friends!)
- fave wine
- fave whisky
- cinema trip
- iou vouchers ( could be as personal  or as practical as needed :money:! )

Any more ideas appreciated!!

Does he have a favourite TV show? Maybe a box set of DVDs for that could be one of the gifts? (Or several of the gifts, I guess, if you wrap each one seperately!)
Does he have a favourite meal that you cook him? Maybe that could be on the actual night of his birthday and then the meal out with friends could be at the weekend? Just a suggestion there but that could be on one of the iou vouchers.

I did 30 for 30 and a few of the presents were things from the year he was born like the Bond movie that year, no 1 single for the week (like midnightraven but I didnt make it into a bowl), Beano annual for that year, programme for the FA cup final etc. All these things I got on Ebay and didnt cost a lot.

I also put in some dvds like cocolgooh said and wrapped them separately.

The main gift was a sort of scrap book/photo album with photos of him for each year of his life (coudnt get all of them) plus pics fo things that were happening that year like tv show or something on the news etc.

Then I filled up the rest of the box with cheaper items like pair of socks from 99p store, tie, deodorant etc.
