Hi,
I did a search first and I didn't see this mentioned.
I received a letter in the post today informing me that my MBNA Sonycard Credit Card and also Pulsebeats collecting is ending on 31 August 2011 whereupon it will change to a MBNA Platinum Rewards Credit Card - Pulsebeats need to be redeemed by 30 June 2012 at the latest.
The full text of the letter is as follows:
_____________________________
"Important Information about your Sony Credit Card
As you know, Sony and MBNA Europe Bank Limited have worked successfully together for a number of years to provide your Sony Card. It has now been decided to end our current relationship, effective 31 August 2011. This decision means that we are no longer able to provide you with a Sony branded credit card. However, as a valued customer we want to make sure that you are always satisfied with the product that we provide you. We have therefore selected you to have a new MBNA Platinum Rewards Credit Card and we will be transferring you over to your new card in September 2011.
The last transactions that will earn Pulsebeats will be the card purchases displayed on your August 2011 statement. After your statement date in August 2011, you will no longer earn Pulsebeats from Sony Card on your account.
You can continue to redeem Pulsbeats until 30 June 2012, so there is plenty of time to make use of the points you have earned, however after this date your Pulsebeats will expire. Your final Pulsebeats balance will be displayed on your Sony Card August 2011 statement so please keep this for reference. To browse the Pulsebeats catalogue visit www.sony.co.uk/sonycardrewards or phone 0870 036 2444 to make your redemption. (The Sony Card call centre is open between the hours of 9.00am - 5.00pm each weekday, excluding Bank Holidays).
So what happens next?
You don't need to do anything about this right now. Your credit card and account will continue to work as normal and once you start spending onyour new MBNA Platinum Rewards Credit Card you will start to earn MBNA Reward Points on all the card purchases that you make.
Every time you use your new card to make purchases you'll benefit from one Reward Point for every £1 spent.
Next steps
We will do everything we can to make sure all the changes as straightforward as possible for you.
Yours sincerely,

Naturally, I was a bit worried they would run out of products so I telephoned today on the geographical equivalent 01379 649144, my call was transferred to the reception because they were so busy at the time.
I then tried again later and got to speak to someone almost straight away, I placed an order and after I'd placed it I spoke to the lady, she said that they had a good stock of products available and that since Pulsebeats could be redeemed up to 30 June 2012 Sony were even planning to add additional products / special offers.
So I don't think there is too much need to panic etc but I didn't know if everyone would be aware. Also, don't forget that your Pulsebeats start to expire 3 years after they have been earned! There are other threads here on MSE about that. I haven't had the card for that long so it hasn't affected me and I was already planning to redeem my Pulsebeats sooner rather than later.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for this chaotic_j.
I created the original post entitled "Has any one had any of their MBNA SonyCard Pulsebeats taken away", hopefully we can link our post so that everyone concerned knows what is going on.
