Self employed overnight stay allowance

Options
Hi hope someone can help, I have recently become Self employed, and 1-2 days a week i can get work 150miles away from home so i need to stay overnight. A friend in the area let's me stay at their house so I don't have hotel bills. I want to know if there is a tax allowance for this type of stay as I like to pay my way when staying there but he refuses to take any money directly. Hope this makes sense thanks in advance.

if he is not charging you, who would the tax allowance be for?

Your friend cannot have a tax allowance for letting you sleep over.

I'm guessing you mean that he won't take money off you but if you can claim it as a tax allowance, he'll be ok to take it?

you'd need a receipt to show that you're staying away from home, otherwise you could just stay at a mates and try and claim for it ;)
If he won't take any money you could get the food him and claim up to £20 for an evening meal.
