Purchasing a Property with Partner

I'd be grateful for some help.

Me and my partner are planning on purchasing a property together, hopefully by the end of the year. We both have jobs and I have a property to sell and my partner lives in rented accomodation.

Unfortunately they live 70 miles away and will be looking to relocate to my area, including a new job prior to us moving in to the house.

Are we able to arrange a mortgage now, based on our current circumstances, eg salaries and addresses but these will hopefully have changed prior to completion. It's likely that my partner will have to take a small pay cut if they move.

How long is the mortgage offer valid for and are further checks made once the offer has been made.

Thanks for your help.

An offer is normally valid for 3 - 6 months. You should ideally wait and start the process when you have sorted everything regarding the move.

You are also obliged to notify the lender of any material facts that could affect the application ie pay cut, new job etc.
