ASDA confirm that they get share of all revenue got from TCP's PCNs

This is my first post but I have been reading losts of posts on MSE; including this forum on parking tickets.
I had a PCN issued to me several months ago but following the advice given on this forum, I just ignored all of the threatograms and haven't heard anything since. Thanks for this.
A few weeks ago, one of my friends got a PCN from Town & Country Parking Ltd at his/her local ASDA store. I told my friend just to ignore it and any TCP's threatograms. I won't elaborate as I know the PPCs do monitor these forums.
However I did email Andy Clarke, ASDA CEO, to complain, to advice him me and my friend wouldn't shop at ASDA again, etc. I didn't give him any of my friends personal details. I also used a pseudo email address to protect my identity as well.
Earlier this week, I read a posting from MSE user stephenliverpool, which advised Guy Mason (from ASDA) in a Scottish Parliament Local Government and Communities Committee report dated 2008 had stated 'the £60 penalty fine is split 50:50 between Asda and Town and City Parking, and we donate our half to Tommy's campaign and Motability. So far, we have been able to donate £120,000 to those charities through the scheme.'
So I sent another email to Andy asking him to confirm whether this 50:50 split is still hapenning and whether they are still donating to charity. After a few chasers, I have received the following response from the ASDA Executive Relations Team, which states 'any money Asda generates from the Parking Charge Notice's is donated to the Tommy's campaign and Motability charity.'
So it looks as though the ASDA has been getting revenue from PCNs since 2008 and donating it all to charity.
I am presuming that other s/markets that use PPCs also have a similar arrangement.
As a a new user, I can't post the URL link for this report but I have instead managed to get this accepted :
www(dot) scottish(dot) parliament(dot) uk/s3/committees/lgc/or-08/lg08-2402(dot) htm
Just replace (dot) with . and you will get a valid URL.
HTHs.

This once again confirms that by making a profit from these unfair charges, they are demanding a penalty which does not reflect the actual loss suffered by ASDA if you break their rules. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

They admit that money is generated then, rather than it being a genuine estimate of loss. Which we all know, but it's interesting when the retailers state something daft like that. They really are all hoodwinked by these companies promising to 'sort out their parking problems for free' just like a protection racket.
We know that Tesco also have signs up in some stores saying something misleading like 'all our profits from these parking charges go to xxxxx charity'. Which makes 99% of people think 'ALL the money goes to charity'. Not true of course, the PPC keeps a huge wedge which is why they are in the dodgy business in the first place.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I actually reported the driver of an Audi A7 at our local Asda in Long Eaton a couple of months ago for parking in Parent/Child space when not eligible.
I think people have quite a cheek to come on here moaning about who receives the profits taken from their parking ignorance/arrogance.....
If you park correctly the parking is FREE everytime.....stop your whining !!!0 -

Except that P&C bays have no legal standing in private car-parks. Don't you realize that they are just another form of marketing gimmick. Just like BOGOFs and loyalty cards. And do you want that person you reported to have to pay out £70 for breaking that silly rule? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
YES I did want that arrogant idiot in the Audi to pay £70 for breaking the parking rules in Asda
Maybe next time he will or will not think twice about taking up space he shouldnt be in.......
No sympathy at all for the arrogant amongst use who think themselves above the rules......0 -
