Looking forward to Silverstone tomorrow, just off to the supermarket for some picnic grub.
What time does it open ? I know the first race is around 9am; we are coming from Birmingham so don't want to sit in a massive traffic jam to get in. What time is everyone getting there for?

It will be busy. There have been gantry sign warnings on the M1 for the past month or so. Be prepared!!

I have 4 tickets going spare in Hull if they are needed by anyone :)

Ooooh I posted mine to my friends in Hull, and they've set off and realised that the tickets haven't even arrived!! Duh!

If by any chance anyone reads this and is at Silverstone with a spare ticket can you please let me know as they're going to camp anyway but are going to be unable to go and see the racing. I'm sure they will be soooo grateful!
  • my kids having a fantastic time at this event. thanks to the OP for the heads up to order the tickets!
  • can you book the hot laps online at all as my bf there at the moment and it fully booked today but they wanna try tomorrow

IF YOU GET THERE FOR 7.30AM YOU BE ABLE TO ENTER THE CIRCUIT.
after 9 am expext at lest up to 4hrs queeing from the motoway to get in, this has been the case in past years.
normaly marshals get to the circuit at 7am for sign on and they miss the traffic kams at that time in the morning. plus for those getting as public at 7.30 you couls gets some breakfast in the paddock dinner and ask those in orange probans about how to be a marshal and whats involed. thats if you are intrested in becoming one and then you could go racing with a guest for the rest of your life for free.
:rotfl: given up on tesco do a lot os boots offers. but weekends are now in orange trackside b. lol
now a race marshal at silverstone.

We went today. Arrived at 10.30 and drove straight in with no queuing. My first time and it was a bit noisy for me but then realised you could get free ear plugs from the shop. Made it more bearable anyway!

  • Don't come from motorway - we sneaked in from A/B roads (after stopping at Northampton Hilton - £53 for 4 of us with breakfast!)- avoided motorway 'cause it was HORRENDOUS!
