mortgage advice Natwest

Just after a bit advice for people who have got mortgages through Natwest.
We had our AIP last week sent our supporting documents over on Saturday and today my partner received three text messages. 1 to say our application was received and a decision would be given shortly. then 4 hours later a message saying our mortgage has been approved subject to Applicant 1: Valuation Survey. we then received another text message saying that the surveyor has been instructed.
Does this all sound normal? We're not sure what the applicant 1 bit means and the mortgage centre shuts before we get back from work!!
Any ideas on the timescales for the surveys? we have agreed the valuation but also a structural survey.
Any help would be appreciated!!

sounds to me like its subject to a valuation. You can get a valuation survey done usually next day - structural survey would probably take longer but you dont need that for the purposes of the mortgage (going by the text)0

Bank forms normally also have a space for second applicant [joint applications etc.] I guess they mean the primary and only applicant when they say Applicant 1.
