M&S Cake when to order

Hi all
I am planning on ordering a 3 tier M&S traditional wedding cake, in the sponge, on the site it says that they can be ready to collect within 7 days.
My question is, I am getting married on a Saturday (9th July) in the afternoon. Should I order my cake the Thursday (30th June) or the Friday (1st July) of the week before? If I order it for the Thursday do I risk it not being at its best by the Saturday. But then I am worried that if I order it for the Friday it may be delayed and not be ready on time.
Does anyone have any advice or experience?

We had M&S cake (mix of sponge, fruit & choc cutting cake) and our wedding was last sat.
We collected ours the day before, it was ready on time, no real reason for it not to be.
I had a sice of the chocolate today & it was still nice - not as moist as on sat, but not dry.
If I were you though I'd still get it closer to the date if pos.0 -
Snap on the wedding date. We have ordered a three tier, did it a while ago. We will be picking up the day before from the store but they haven't taken payment yet, they do that just before they make it. Even if you put your order in now that is fine, they will make it at the right time.MFW 2025 No. 7 £500/£1200

Thanks for the replies.
I hadn't realised I could order it now to be ready on the 8th July, I thought I had to wait until 7 days before I wanted it to ready. I'll have a look at getting my order in today. I think I'll opt for it to be ready to collect on the Friday, that way I can also get my nails done and eyebrows done in the same shopping centre where M&S is, killing 3 birds with on stone, as it were!
Thanks guys.Desperately trying to get debt free!0
