What is your unsecured debt as a % of income?

Mine is 35.4%...will be 28.9% at the end of November but from then I'll only be paying 2.8% of my salary a month/year as I'll have finished paying my Mum back by then. As I hadn't paid my credit cards for about 2 1/2 years they agreed to VERY low payments (I might have exaggerated my income and expense a bit to get these) but now they're being really difficult with conditions of a settlement so as of today (pay day!) I have enough savings to pay all debt off in full but as my debt is interest free, there's really no point in paying them back any time soon! Got better things to do with my cash!0

Have just worked mine out I can't believe it's 25%, it's not until someone actually asks you, and then you sit down and work it out how much of your pay goes on paying debts.
I can't wait until March as hopefully by then I will be finally debt free, and will try to stay debt free unlike the last time:)0 -
Do you mean the amount you pay each month towards the debt from wages OR the total amount of debt compared to wages? At one point we owed more in unsecured debt than we earned, so over 100%, which we paid back with about 50% of wages each month. Now it is 0%.LBM-2003ish

5.76%. It would have been 3.84% but work are sending me to Australia on Monday so I've had to buy currency etc. 2 months ago it was 8.3% so it's getting there :-)0

Mine is currently ~ 92% of basic net salary (I do get extras worth about 25% last year on top of that). It was 106% when at LBM last Feb/March and coming down by about 1% a month.... long way to go, but hopefully will be in a position to make some F&F offers shortly to reduce it by bigger chunks....
It doesn't help that the mortgage is another 320% of annual salary with payments ~50% of take home basic pay.
Putting it like that is shocking really. Makes me more determined to get some more put towards it....0 -
Total amount of unsecured debt / annual salary = 39%, ekkkk...
Next month it'll be 36%!!! Can't wait to its 0%:)

While I wouldn't wish this on anyone, it's nice to know that others are in the same boat (and just as appalled at themselves for getting into it, sans lifevest!)Wish it win it 2013
