Experian Just Will not Get my Address Right
For the past 11 years I have lived in a flat with an address format of:
Flat XX Building House
1A Streetname Street
City
Postcode
Now in all that time whenever I apply for My Experian file I find 90% of my accounts missing and have to contact them for a fuller file (although still not comprehensive)
I have complained, Checked the Electoral Roll address format and they just add another "Linked Address" to my file in the hope this will pull through all the records. (I have 15 linked addresses relating to this property alone).
Electoral Roll displays the address as:
Flat XX
Building House
1A Streetname Street
City
Postcode
Equifax on the other hand get it right first time every time despite some creditors formatting my address slightly differently (it seems to depend which postcode lookup service they use).
Equifax display the address as:
Flat XX Building House 1A,
Streetname Street
City
Postcode
Which seems to make it a more standard address format.
I'm struggling to know what else I can do, but as I am currently undertaking a credit file cleanup I need to get as much of my file as possible to check its accuracy.
It cant be impossible to get a standard format or a way of being recognised surely?
If anyone has had similar problems or knows how to resolve please let me know
Cheers in advance

go to the Royallmail website and look up an address. Put your post code in nd it will show all the addresses linked to that postcode. Select your address and that is the correct address.
Your correct address will also be be on your driving licence.0 -

Thanks for the reply but my DLic address is formatted differently to the Royal Mail version as it does not use the "Flat XX" at the start i.e. it shows:
XX Building House
1A Streetname Street
City
Postcode
and the Royal Mail Version is as you suggested formatted in the way the Electoral Roll information is.0 -
I believe I have the same issues, My flat address is G/1 with the council regarding council tax etc but if I look up the address on the RM website it's 'A' and I believe this might be why I have been refused loans and credit cards etc in the past as even CheckMyFile has problems finding me.
Are you able to say to Experian etc that there is different formatting of your address?
I also having a problem with us not knowing if the flat was A or B but that's a different matter entirely.0
