Rejection Risk?

What reasons do lenders/bank reject mortgage applicants?
We’re starting to look at mortgage rates for our expiring deal in September – we have an apmnt on Sat with the bank. She mentioned she’d do a credit ref check beforehand incase there was any reason she wouldn’t be able to help. Made me nervous we’d be rejected.....
We have had a couple of random credit card late payments, but no other issues. Are we at risk of being rejected for these?

so you are remortgaging ?
The fact that you already have a mortgage should go in your favor. The robots do most of the check but if you convince the bank lady that you are in a good financial state then she will be able to add her discretion and take your application forward.
I don't think a couple of missed payments [unless you still haven't cleared them] will make much of a difference. Don't stress and good luck.Nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. - Alex Supertramp0 -

Nothing random about missing card payments. As easy enough to set up a direct debt for the minimum monthly payment.0 -

agreed - what i meant was this hasn't been habitual. can anyone offer their view on how this will affect us?
infact i believe i have this wrong - on review we've never had late payments - but have had charges for going over our limit0
