Someone's taken out a loan using my address!!!!!!

Letter through door from HFC addressed to someone using our address confirming that credit facility of £1200 has been arranged
Person does not live at this address but HFC bank are refusing to confirm in writing to ourselves that person will be removed from their records as living at this address because we are not the person named in the letter
how do you overcome this problem?

It's not identity fraud as they haven't used your identity, I would just write to them saying that whoever it is doesn't live at that address and you want no correspondence sending to your address for them. It may simply be a typo, perhaps they live in a nearby street with a similar name, or at a different number on your street. It should make no difference to your credit status as it's not in your name.0

no the worrying thing is they were buying our house 3 months ago.......but they pulled out 3 months ago.....credit was taken out at the beginnign of this month?!?0

Well the thing is that you know about it.
You could contact the police and report it as fraud to back up your case - that may get HFC motivated to act.

have a look at your credit report, and see if anyone has been taking out credit using your name, details etc.
