Hey guys,
Only post here very rarely but I would like to thank everyone in hear for.all help previously and here is my next question.........
When I was 18 I got myself into a little bit of debt then had a little one ect ect and for the past million years I have been paying 10 quid a week off a debt via a national arrestment or what ever its called where they take it out my wage before I get paid...... I have chipped away at this debt for years and from what I can remember I think its down from about 7k to 3.3k I was just wondering is there anyway of getting the balance smaller without paying it all as a lot was possibly intrestd and missed payments and now I just want it gone ASAP. Thanks
Tim

I'm not sure about arrestments but most debts you can offer full and final settlements to the creditor e.g offer £500 on the condition the rest is written off.
There are specific conditions that they need to confirm in writing though (due to problems I've had actually getting this I've given up on it!) - you'll get the template letters from National Debtline website.
Of course, the whole arrestment thing could mean you can't do this but definitely worth a try!0
