green concealer for redness?

afternoon peeps :)

I'm kinda new to this make-up malarkey and starting to get into wearing more than pressed powder and mascara!
Anyway, I have rosacea on my cheeks and a touch on my forehead, so redness and they can be a touch dry/flaky.

I've heard that green concealer can be good for cancelling out the redness, however I need something that's creamy rather than powder and that wouldn't dry my skin - and have no idea which one to get!

I don't want to spend too much on it is possible, am skint, but does anyone have any recommendations on what's best?

    hi
    i have rosacea too.
for years now i've been using no7 colour calming make up base.
though i don't use foundation so just used it as it was (looked a bit green at the gills lol)
anyway, on top of that i now use a powder by elizabeth arden called pure finish minearl powder foundation which hides the green too.

there are a few rosacea sites and they recommended certain foundations that were quite thick which werent for me. but i still have the list that they recommended....

ok back again.. the list are

estee lauder - doublewear maximum cover
    jane iredale
    revlon colourstay
    lancome teint idole ultra

i remember on the rosacea site that most people didn't like the colour calming no7 make base but i find its ok for my cheeks. it falls off my nose so just have to accept having a perminant red nose.

if you find anything that covers better than this lot, it would be great if you could post it on here, then i could have a try too :)

forgot to add.. the no7 stuff is a cream.

ermintrudy, thanks for that, I appreciate the list.
I have a foundation that's about three quarters full so not about to replace it right now but good to have a list of ones to try another time.

To be honest though if I got the redness covered I probably wouldn't wear foundation everyday, just powder, but will have to see how that goes!
Someone else recommended the no7 one to me but they said it was a powder?? Must be a different one so I'll have to check I get the cream not the powder.

Boots No 7 definitely do a cream one - it' on my dressing table! I'm not sure if Boots 17 still do one as well, they used to, and it was a bit cheaper than No 7.

I don't have rosacea, but I use a green concealer to cover the odd spots and redness round my nose. I just use one from Boots Natural Collection which is under £2 and lasts forever! May be worth a try. It comes in a white push up tube (like Rimmel concealers, or lipsticks)

Hi I too have redness about the nose and the no 7 Green Calming Cream did not work for me. What did work for me was the Colour Me Beautiful Skin Adjuster. Its a light yellow liquid and it evens out my skin tone. It is sold by the people who do the Colours for you, I think there is a web site of Colour Me Beautiful. You would need to go to your local advisor to purchase it. I think it cost me about £8 about 3 years ago and I have just finished the tube. I have used a few others including Chanel le Blanc and Mac Prep and Prime and keep going back to this one. It may be trial and error to find what suits your skin. If you pm me your home address i would post you my bottle of No 7 Calming Lotion which I no longer use.

I had to find an alternative to the Boots No7 green concealer a few years ago. After much internet searching, I finally found a green concealer 'pen' made by Revlon that you can buy very cheaply on eBay. I buy them say, five at a time. There isn't much product in the 'pen' but then they don't cost much! I actually prefer it to the Boots cream which I found to be a bit too greasy and not very covering. On my oilier nose, I use it straight from the 'pen' (it has a built in brush) and on my drier cheeks I moisturise first then blend in some concealer. It's called 'Vital Radiance' 'Redness Corrector' and it's also SPF12, as a bonus. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-x-Revlon-Vital-Radiant-Redness-Corrector-Concealer-/290474121731?pt=UK_WSJL_Wholesale_GL&hash=item43a19b5a03

thanks both for the tips :)

    @GlasgowGal I have PM'd you

@Mayflower10cat, is it a 'cream' in the pen, and is it very drying? My cheeks are very dry so I need something a bit moisturising I think.

Of itself, it isn't drying, just not overly greasy. It is a cream but it's quite concentrated. To apply over a large area (Like My Cheeks!!!) that's why I personally apply a copious amount of my preferred decent moisturiser first, then dot on the pen/brush and blend in. I use a mineral powder over the top and I don't seem to end up overly green (or white!) this way.
