Foundation help!!

Hi all, I am just coming to the end of my Benefit Playstick, but they seem to have changed the formula and it just doesn't last the day like the old version, so I am after some tried and trusted advice for fellow MSE's and recommendations.

Thanks all!

  • were you looking for a premium cosmetic (eg benefit/estee/dior) or is high street brands aceptable
what sort of skin type do you have and colouring (some brands just dont do a wide span of shades *shakes fist at them)
and as far as im aware yes the old playsticks got discontinued a few months ago so im sure they changed the formula.

Welcome abbie07:) You came to the right place:DWhat sort of look are you after?

If you liked the playsticks then you might like Estee Lauder Doublewear light, pricey but worth it, on the high street I believe Maybelline do a similar product to the playsticks called Express 3 in 1 - hth:)

  • Thanks for the replies so far - very kind!!

The Playsticks did cost me £25 so am prepared to pay around that amount for a product that has rave reviews. I can make do with cheaper eyeshadows etc, but personally think foundation is one you need to fork out for!

I am pale skinned, have normal skin, so just need some to even out my skin tone really, but like a foundation to last more than a morning!

Thanks again for the replies so far.....

Hi I used to use EL double wear but it gave me terrible spots, tried many other premium brands, spent a small fortune then a beautician recommended a Rimmel one, 25hr and have to say it's fab! Lasts all day and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin - hurrah! It costs about six pounds

Same happened to me:( its a great product but not right for a lot of people a bit like MAC, which all come under the EL parent company so it must be a formulation thing, I've found an alternative too with Revlon Colourstay for combo skin, marvelous product and costs about half of the EL DW:)

How interesting Glowgirl, as I couldn't get on with MAC either. I shall try the Revon one when mine runs out!

I could be tempted with Revlon Colourstay but all of the colours even the palest look so orange! I'm almost the lightest shade of DW.
