Haggling at Goldsmiths - Help anyone?

Hi
I'm looking at purchasing a new tag watch for my wife for xmas from Goldsmiths, however, think that I'm stumbling on getting a good deal when haggling.
The RRP for the watch is £1395 and after asking a discount one store came down to £1250 and another £1241. No matter how much I tried or said that it was still more than what I wanted to pay - neither salesperson agreed to go down any further.
I was hoping to maybe get around £200-300 off - a bit optimistic I know - but having read some other forums where other people have managed to get at least 20-30% off, I can't help but think that I should be able to achieve the same or close to the same too.
I can't help but think that they're taking advantage of me because it's Christmas and think that I'm more desperate to buy a present and therefore are less flexible on their discounts.
Anyone got any extra tips of how I can try knock off a few (a lot more actually) more pounds? Or should I resign to the fact that that is genuinely as low as they can go?
Your help is appreciated.

I have been shopping round for an engagement ring and Goldsmiths was one of the places I visited - they tend to come down straight away by 10% but I was aiming for 15% - eventually got them to 13% off but that was as far as they would go.
Same at Beaverbrooks - the 10% friends and family discount was the 1st to come off - then they would reduce further because I wasn't having it on their 12mths 0% and then finally I asked for more as it was the last day of the month (end of Nov 06) - they eventually gave away 15%.0
