Shorters Club - bulk buying

I have jsut read an article in the Daily Mail about the Shorters Club, a bulk shopping website. Had a quick look and there is a lot of stuff I would buy and use for good prices. Has anyone used it before? Anything to be wary about?

I've used them for buying stuff for the PTFA. They were very good, I ordered and the next day they delivered in one of their lorries which I thought was quite good. I got a dispatch email and assumed they would come on a carrier but an hour later there was a knock at the door. Impressive.

he negative - we bought some chocolate eggs and they sent smaller bags than we had ordered. I called to enquire and they said that it was a mistake on their website and that they had the wrong size down........ and that was it. I was waiting for an offer to make up the shortfall (as we would have had to buy some more to make the difference up) but they didn't and that as that.

    I'd use them again though.

I have just had a quick look and compared prices with other places and they arent over priced compared to some but they arent exactly cheap either you could get most things they have cheaper at asda and considering bulk buying should lower the cost i dont think they are doing any one any favours.

  • I've bought from them several times, no problems at all, and have actually had a really good experience with their customer service team - I once ordered for a party very last minute, phoned them to see what they could do about delivery and they juggled their delivery drivers so I could get my order at the best time for me the next day. I've recently started ordering more regularly rather than just big bulk orders for special occasions, and have carried out my own "price comparison" with the supermarkets - so far, they have always come out cheaper.
  • Anyone bought from them recently (last few months)? They won't answer the phone and I haven't had a reply to my emails...

I ordered from them for first time in December, they sent an email when stuff was dispatched and my order was delivered by one of their own drivers who was friendly and polite. No mistakes with my order.

I have checked several things against mysupermarket and sometimes they beat supermarket offer prices. I would use them again.

Re: unanswered calls there is a note on website saying if the phone isn't picked up it may be because they are in the warehouse. I get the impression that this is a wholesale operation doing retail average person bulk orders on the side.
