Is Recycling Christmas acceptable?

I have a friend who still keeps the first Christmas card that I ever sent him and checks in with me each year mid December that the sentiment still stands so that he can put it back up again!! Win win scenario - he gets a card, its one less job for me and one less wasted bit of card!0

would anyone have the nerve to actually do that
i guess you could glue paper (poss coloured tissue paper) over each inside page to look as though it's supposed to be there, etc - some cards are made that way - and print your own stuff on it. could poss tippex over orig text to stop it showing through. don't think i'd actually do this myself.
personally, and i feel ashamed that i now do this... i cut up the most suitable cards and make labels for next year out of them. my parents suggested it years ago and, just because they suggested it, i thought "how pathetic". years on i am now doing it  i make a 'perfect' hole in one corner so i can tie it on with ribbon - that i remove from this year's presents and keep!!
i think from now on i'm only gonna send cards to those people i don't see v.often and those i see regularly are gonna get e-cards or special email etc. think i'm gonna try making my own cards - this will probably cost more than buying cheapo ones?
i agree with the comments about the spirit of xmas - it really is a shame how things have become 'obligatory'. there's only one person i truly love to give to and that's my son - sheer joy
hope you all have a great year

my gran is in her 80's and at her community centre there's a woman who recycles cards for charity. she has printed pictures, usually of flowers that she glies over the words to cover them up. nan and her friends use them without embarassment, perhaps it's just my generation who don't want to re-use things.52% tight0
