Yes indeed. What could be cleverer than not having enough Wii's in stock to satisfy consumer demand? It's a stroke of genius to sell far fewer consoles than they could have done.
I wonder how many others like me are annoyed by this and have just bought an Xbox 360 instead?
Well done Nintendo, you're driving potential customers onto other platforms!Marillion - A Better Way of Life.0 -

I must say there have been a few customer in the store I work where they've asked about the Wii, heard the bleak out look and then gone for either a PS2 or Xbox 360. Its the same with the DS... when we run out of pink, the very next day we had about 50 pink PSP's delivered and customers just buy those instead.~Diminutive0

Not so sure people are still paying over the odds on ebay for both.
I've haven't seen OH so excited about Xmas for some time, and its not even his Wii!;)0 -
The clever thing that nintendo have achieved is thousands of people that did not even want a wii have bought one because of the frenzy of the talk of a shortage had created........now all we read is that many shops now have some stock and i would think that anybody else who thinks they need one will get one b4 christmas, and before they are reduced in the sales to 199 pounds..........Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0

An insider at nintendo would tell you that they have sold more by creating "A Shortage" than they would have done by having shops full of them.....its hardly as if they did not know that christmas was on the 25th december this year!Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0
