Our Organic Ground Almond or Almond flour makes a great alternative to conventional flour when you need to make gluten free. Our raw ground Almonds all come from Spain, they have a delicious flavour and make an excellent ingredient for cakes, biscuits and desserts.

Someone said Makro for 1KG bags if you know anyone with a Makro card
Someone else said make your own
You can also make your own by grinding up unroasted, unsalted, peeled almonds, in a coffee grinder. Works very well and is cheaper. Don't overgrind though or you'll get almond butter!

so should I be looking for ground almonds on the packet :rotfl: I stupidly thought that "flour" would somehow be different to simply ground"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."

I would have a go at making it, if you go beyond flour and end up with paste, it will still taste nice

Coconut Cake
Ingredients
6 eggs
¼ cup coconut oil
¼ cup coconut milk
6 Tablespoons raw honey or other sweetener
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon orange /lemon zest
½ cup coconut flour
½ teaspoon baking powder (aluminium free)
½ teaspoon sea salt
juice of ½ medium orange or lemon or other
Directions
Take your eggs out of your refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Melt coconut oil. Whisk the eggs, coconut milk, honey, vanilla and orange zest together.
Combine coconut flour, baking powder and sea salt. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet. Pour coconut oil into batter and mix until all lumps are gone.
Pour the batter into your greased pan and place on the middle rack of the oven. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until browned on top and a toothpick comes out clean. Place the cake on a cooling rack.
After the cake has cooled a bit, but is still warm, poke holes all over the top with a fork. Juice the orange /lemon half right over the whole cake, making sure to evenly distribute the juice
As to Almond Flour

Can I Make My Own Almond Flour?:Yes, you can make it in a blender or food processor, though care must be taken not to go too far, or you will have almond butter! Use fairly small amounts, and pulse until it's meal.
