Adcortyl ulcer treatment.

Mouth ulcer treatment Adcortyl has now been withdrawn, no one knows why. It is the only treatment that works, can't find alternatives on web. I suspect Health & Safety - thousands of pensioners and others are denied ulcer treatment from a chemist yet hard drugs are freely available in high security prisons, the country has gone mad. Any ideas? Join a campaign?

  • Have you tried Iglu? It's not exactly the same but sticks like mad and works for me.

It's nothing to do with health and safety legislation - the company that made it decided it wasn't making enough profit, so discontinued it. From a quick look on Google, you can get 'orabase protective paste' which is the gel stuff without the steroid in, ask a pharmacist if it might be suitable?

How annoying - Adcortyl was great stuff. I find a few days of rinsing with Corsodyl is a good alternative.

You are seriously comparing the withdrawal of a commercially unviable product with the narcotic problem in UK prisons?

    Troll elsewhere, dear.
