Info needed by lender if someone else pays my deposit?

    Get a letter from him saying he is gifting you the money and does not expect a return of any kind. If the money he is sending has been obtained by legal means then you should be alright. Lenders are normally happy with an informal letter. Since this is a big amount, they might ask for his bank details or a copy of his statement. Shouldn't be too much of an issue.
    Alternative would be to get the money now, keep it in your account for three months and declare it as your savings.

  • Gettting a letter and a bank statement is no problem but if i get the money put into my account in advance will i need to pay tax on it or declare it ?
