:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Carmen _party__party__party__party__party_ hope you have really nice day. I have a 0 number birthday in October and am slightly dreading it but suppose it's only another day - I'm not going to look any worse when I wake up in the morning that day (unless have been out the night before of course :rotfl::rotfl:)

Phoenix_dragon - congrats on the pregnancy :) I think that's surely a perfect excuse to pamper yourself (not that we need one of course!) Maybe just concentrate on healthy eating etc for now - then it will benefit both you and the little one and will make it easier for you to get back into shape after they're born.

After my first day on the shred yesterday I was rather expecting to be in agony when I got up today and was feeling quite impressed with myself that I seemed ok - but now it seems to be creeping up on me and can feel it in my shoulders and legs - think I may be hobbling home :o Ah well, shall try and do it again tonight and hopefully will get easier. Feeling a bit disorganised today as realised this morning that I had run out of the things I was planning to take for lunch (think OH has been snacking!) so ended up having to grab a supermarket sandwich on the way in - which am not really looking forward to, plus will need to pick up some stuff on the way home.

    Hope everyone's having a good day x

Happy Birthday Camen :bdaycake::beer: The hair sounds fab Mooloo, glad you had a lovely holiday maman and massive big hugs to everyone that needs them , (insert smiley hug).

Well I have my perfume on, make-up on, always shower and wash hair every morning. (unless I'm ill). I am working on my posture and always wear rubber gloves, (eczema).

I tried the banana face mask yesterday and absolutely loved it!

I am 45 years old and am now seperated after 17 years of being with him. Two young dd's 8 and 10. I have very low self-esteem, (which I'm working on), but quite a bit of confidence if that makes sense. I mainly always have a smile plastered on my face, even though I might be crumbling inside. I am overweight. I have lost nearly two stone, (althought gone off the rails the last week, as I eat with my emotions). I still need to loose another 3 stone.

I love make up etc. I am a bit of a nightmare with fashion. I do love the preppy look that you describe though. Finances/time are stretched at the moment. I am at the start of divorce proceedings. We seperated about 8 months ago but I have only just got my head together. I do however feel more in control

I cannot ever imagine meeting anyone else. I do however want to make the most of myself, both inside and outside, without breaking the bank. I want to be the strongest that I can both for me and my lovely dd's. I know I am in for a roller coaster of a ride until this divorce/finances are sorted out but by feeling my best I will have a fighting chance.

Sorry for this rambling email. I usually such a private person with forums however I feel at home on this thread.:T

Just popped in briefly and wanted to say Happy Birthday Carmen. I hope you have a lovely day today :):bdaycake:_party_

Having quickly read LLs wonderful posts yesterday, it would appear that my current style is hobo, but I think my desired style (that I tend to aim for and miss spectacularly!) is probably a sort of countrified preppy affair - lead by my lifestyle rather than actual desires - I'd swan around looking like Audrey Hepburn given the chance, but not so practical in the country with three [STRIKE]hooligans[/STRIKE] children and a barmy dog! I'd love to divide my life into it's little sections and dress accordingly. So we would have:

Dog walking/churning up the countryside - sort of countrified preppy

    Like this (minus the hat!).

Normal daytime (shopping/errands etc) - groomed smart casual

    Daytime occasions (barbecues/school functions/lunchs) - a touch of 50s

    Blue+Dress.jpg

Evening functions (yeah right, like I have those :rotfl:) - simple understated elegance

    Night-time :o - oo glam diva, definitely!

I can't find any other pictures and I've spent way too long looking for the two I did find! I think you catch the drift though! It has made me think a lot about what I would like to be wearing, though as opposed to what I do wear - can only be a good thing :)

    Hi gals,

I'm trying to follow this thread with the daily 'to do's' but I'm finding I loose it amongst the chat, would it be possible for LL to please update the original post with the daily thought in the form of a list? so then other newbies and I can just look at the first post and see what needs to be done/included for example on day 10.
    Thanks

Hi again, I am stuffed :) Had a wonderful lunch with O/H. Not used to eating a large meal (3 courses) during the day, I think I could get used to it :) I love to eat outside when the weather is fine, a glass of wine watching the world go by.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes XX

Polly, are you sure you want the hobo look? ;) I think the hat looks great.

Pod, it is just a number, you are only as old as you feel.

Yummymummy, well done for losing two stone and I'm sure you will lose the rest over time. Sorry you have had just such a hard time, I hope you will continue to get stronger for your children and yourself.

Welcome Phoenix, you have started already so keep up the good work.

LL, I hope you have a nice lunch...LWL...oooer misuss.

Need a power nap, back later.

:bdaycake:Just wanted to add my birthday wishes Carmen.

Glad to hear your lunch went well. If you don't mind I'll pass on a piece of birthday cake, or perhaps I'll have a calorie free slice of virtual cake! Anything exciting planned for the rest of the day/week?

4lbs gained at weigh-in this morning. Not bad for a good holiday but now must be extra disciplined to get it off and more!

    Back soon.x

I think the hat looks good too, but I'm not blessed with a dainty head and I've never found a hat which looks nice on me :( I'd love to try one and see though.

Hobo is very much in reference to what I saw gazing back from the mirror this morning :( I'm making an effort though, I have mascara (black) and lippie AND perfume AND nail polish on today - people are going to start talking :rotfl:

ETA: I just measured my head (the kids think I've finally gone mad!) and my head is approx 23.5" inches round - guess that's why I'm so smart then ;)

Maman - 4lbs is soo worth a good holiday - that'll go again quickly :)

....tiptoes in and whisphers 'can I join too?' Found this thread today and feel it's a sign, it's meant to be! I was widowed three months ago and although it's early days for us (I've two teenage boys) we're slowly getting back into things and as I've started decluttering in the last few weeks it made me think I need to start work on me too. As many of you have already said what with work, children and just generally life getting in the way it's easy for weight to pile on, live in joggers and outsize t-shirts, and I personally run a mile when my friends start talking about manicures, pedicures, clothes, make-up, perfume .... you get my drift. I wear fairly smartish clothes for work and the minimum of make-up and perfume every day (woohoo I've started already!) but evenings and weekends are a different matter. My wardrobe is full of mis-matched items. I'm an impulse buyer and always buy things I like the look of and nothing ever matches - or fits because I never try before I buy. Help!

My nails aren't too bad but I'd never have a manicure as I pick at the skin around the cuticle? and nail and they look awful. Same with pedicures, my feet are horrible with hard skin - least I don't bite them!

I've lost a stone and half since April but probably need to lose another two and a half so plan to unwrap the Jillian Michael DVD I have had for eight months and start back on the healthy eating. In my quest to rediscover 'me' I'm going to give this my all but I will need help and you will all need to kick my butt at some point - just warning you now:)

Look forward to getting to know you all.

Jellybaby, having a manicure could help you to break that finger-picking habit, you wouldn't want to spoil your gorgeous hands and the treatment would trim, soothe and smooth any rough bits.
