Mortgage Promise

Ok - Easy one for you - how long on average does a Mortgage promise last?

Comments

  • Depends which lender it is from.

Some say 30 days some say 14 days others have different timescales.

Technically as long as nothing changes in your situation between being issued wth the mortgage promise and making the full application then you should be OK, subject to the information given to obtain the mortgage proomise being accurate and full.
  • Would it be affected if I'm in Scotland?
I thought it was closer to three months?
Probaly wrong but many thanks. I have an agreement in Principle from the Nationwide from October - but with a Salary hike in January I'll need a new one anyway...
  • Have just called Nationwide, their AIP's are valid for 90 days as long as there is no change to your income or circumstances.
  • Many thanks Sir, I did look on my promise but could see no expiry date or the length of time it was valid.
