    You should try next step as well though. They can give good information on a range of subjects including employment & training and can also get a plan together for you.

    What about british gas training program or BT, i think they're apprenticeships but not sure what the pay is

    Completing that 1 HNC unit at evening classes has to be a 1st move. Youre more likely to be able to move sideways into another engineering company as aan experienced enginer with HNC rather than ONC.

    You could also look at upgrading your HNC to a Degree with the Open University, although you'd need to decide ehat area you want to move into - although, as above, a BEng will open more doors than an HNC if you want to stay in engineering
