I do believe I read somewhere that this offer isn't compatible with cashback sites. Unfortunate but the offer is still great! :j

I just made a second order for my mum - 12 bottles of wine and some honey for just over £23!

Another question for those that have used Ocado before. I was hoping to be able to specify a substitution for the beer I ordered for OH, ordered one of his favourites but would have liked to specify a 2nd choice if not in stock. I cannot see anywhere that allows this. What usually happens if you are not happy with a substitute? And anyone have any ideas what happens if we then return items that takes our shopping to below the £40 would we still get our £20 off? TIA

Must give a big thanks to the OP who posted this on Grabbit, I would have missed it otherwise!

Should I be worried and open a claim? I am a new customer, so I think I should be entitled to the cashback.

Cashback is sometimes incompatible with codes. That is why Topcashback advises you to only use approved codes. Though it lists other codes posted by users of the website, you use them at your own risk. What you have to consider is that there is only one new customer bonus here. Twenty pounds off your shopping or the cashback. I suspect the delay in releasing the code was to ensure that people weren't able to claim both. Perhaps those who ordered early will get lucky with the cash back though.

But will it pay out though, or become payable at £0.00? People seem to be reporting the latter.

I was thinking of that - but did you use your own card - or did your mum have to have one - so the address matched the card?

I don't know for sure, as it's my first time using them also, but their business model for online shopping is different to most retailers. Goods are picked from a central warehouse based on a customer order - therefore they should know, when a customer orders a product, if they will have in stock or not (as they know what other orders have been placed). May not work for orders placed far out for product with a short shelf life, but something like beer ought to. May not be the case, but I don't see why it wouldn't be, and would explain why there is no 'substitution' option.
