Jobseekers/pension crossover

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has any advice. I'm currently getting jobseekers but on 6th sept this year I become of pension age. I rang up to claim my pension and was told I was eligable for full pension. I will recieve my first pension payment on 13th sept and then the next payment is on 11 oct. What is worrying me is that I will have one weeks pension paid on the 13th sept and then its a whole month until I am paid again. I assume my jobseekers stops from the 6th. Has anyone else been in this position and what did they do. Any helpful advice would be gratefully recieved.:(

If you mean state pension, you can choose weekly or 4 weekly payments. Monthly is not an option.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

If you are being paid 4-weekly, why won't the first payment be 4 weeks money? Is there any chance for you to put a little bit aside between now and then to cover you for that month if you do only receive 1 weeks money?DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

You were advised on your other thread that you can have your pension paid weekly. As this would solve your problem I'm unsure why you've started a new thread.0

Lost track of where I posted my first enquiry. I'm not too sure of how things are done on here. Was unaware that I had commited such a cardinal sin. Also when I rang to claim my pension I was not told that I could be paid weekly. Just told my payment was on 13th sept and then 11th of oct and no mention of weekly payment.Oldernotwiser wrote: »You were advised on your other thread that you can have your pension paid weekly. Well I found your other post within a minute http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=44618768&postcount=12. You tagged your query on to another thread about someone else's eligibility for a pension, which is a different question.patricia50 wrote: »Lost track of where I posted my first enquiry. In general, if you raise a query, you start your own thread. This allows the person who started the thread to come back with more info and updates, keeping their problem separate from yours and also saves people from trawling through a dozen irrelevant posts to reach your query.
And the other thing, is don't start the same query in more than 1 place [crossposting] - or if you must do this, at least say in both places that this is what you have done. Otherwise, as here, you find people waste their time giving a reply which has already been given on the other threadHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. You will get your pension weekly, if that's what you want and ask for. I went from job seekers to state pension, smooth and pain free. One stops the other starts.
IlonaI love skip diving.

Ilona[/QU Thanks so much, that was all I needed to know. You gave me good advice from your own experience which was what I had asked for.

Bit wary of posting on here now as I seem to have annoyed some people by not doing things correctly. Just remember we all have to start somewhere and if we make mistakes in the process a KINDLY word to put us right is all thats needed.0
