Tax Code Check help

I know that this is very cheeky but was wondering if someone could help. I am being really dense and can’t figure out if my tax codes are correct.

I have used the calculator but am unsure. Does anyone have a moment to let me know what they think based on the details below?


2010 -2011
• Tax code 627L
Extract of P60: Total Pay 20626
Total Tax 2842

2009 -2010
• Tax code 647L
Extract of P60: Total Pay 18462.72
Total Tax 2396.60

2008-2009
• Tax code 603L
Extract of P60: Total Pay 16303.74
Total Tax 2052.80

    2010/11 is a bit out - £27 or so underpaid. Was your tax code reduced part way through the year? Was your tax code 627L w1 or M1? Why was it reduced from 647 to 627?

    no idea - i have been in the same job for 11 yrs - although with incremental pay rises - i did get married but don't think it makes a difference nowadays?

    according to payslips currently i'm on 713L

    I think that you should ring HMRC and find out - last years code should have been 647L and this year 747L. There is a deduction from your personal allowances for some reason.
