Cheap contact lens eye test

Well, I'm having some issues where one of my eyes is blurry when using contact lenses but fine with glasses. They are the same prescription but I think I need to get my eyes checked for a specific contact lens prescription. I called Boots and the y wanted £35 just for the test (asked about the £5 test oucher but it isn't valid for contact checks).
Does anyone know how to get a cheap test? I currently get my lenses from daysoft at £9.98 a month so would rather do that than enter into a "Plan"

I pay £20 at specsavers for a contact lens check up. You should really get one done, as it may be you have an issue with your eye. bring your lenses from Daysoft with you, so the contact lens practictioner can write the prescription with your details on. When did you last have one done-they really should be every 12 months0

I had a normal eye test a year ago. My contact lens one must have been around 5 years ago. I didn't realise they were different to be honest0 -
Specsavers invite me for a contact lens check every six months. As it's included with my plan, I go! I wouldn't want to economise on something as precious as my eyesight and if I ever had a problem I can just walk in and be examined, again all part of the plan. Glasses check every year. My glasses prescription seems to change more often that my contact lenses for some reason.0

The contact lens check is for the health of your eye whilst wearing contacts-to ensure they are still suitable, no ulcers, fit OK etc
Daysoft really should be ensuring you have a valid contact lens prescription, rather just just relying on the tick box (I use them, I think they are great, but I do think they are lax on this front-I went 6 months over, and felt really guilty saying I had an unexpired prescription-not good at lying lol!)
Am sure will all be fine though-I hate the fluorescein strips0 -

Can I ask why you hate fluorescein strips? Did you have a bad experience in the past? It is just a drop of orange dye and you do worse by putting a lens in your eye
I like to know I am having a thorough check with my lenses and always question if I don't have the fluorescein checkRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

This is a great showcase for why contact lenses shouldnt be sold online without any check-ups or correct fitting. Because the lens sit on the eye its a different prescription to glasses.Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0

I have never had a contact lens check without fluorescein, but I find it stings my eyes slightly, so thats why I don't like it (maybe hate was a strong word)
I think what they should do is ensure they have a faxed or hard copy of the contact lens prescription before dispensing, to ensure people do have a valid prescription0 -

Did you know that it is illegal to supply contact lenses without a valid specification? By buying lenses from these suppliers, you are actively supporting them.
I believe a crackdown is imminent.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.
