hi,
i couldnt figure out which section to post this, so it is going here seeing as it is free!
https://www.immobilise.com
register your belongings for free, if your items become stolen or lost there maybe a chance that they could be returned to you, if you register at the above site and enter the serial or imei numbers of all your valuables.
i hope this helps!

Hmmmmm, sounds a bit iffy, its like telling burglars exactly what you have without them having to bother breaking into an empty house, "ok number 14's got nothing worth anything however number 16 has stuff galore".
Have to be careful when things are linked to your address. And yes the lady in the avatar is me

hey this was recomended by a family member who work for the police!
its no back street site, trying to find out what you have etc.
ABOUT IMMOBILISE
"Immobilise is a free service that allows you to record the details of as many of your possessions as you wish on a secure, offsite inventory. If you wish you can upgrade your free account and add photographs and certificates of ownership.
It is the largest service of its type with over 15 million registered users, 22 million items registered, and over 16 million stolen items recorded.
The recorded information can help you after loss, theft or fire to complete insurance claims, report stolen or lost property to the Police and mobile phone networks.
Uniquely via your Immobilise account UK users can flag any registered item as lost or stolen and this appears, (complete with pictures if you have recorded them) on the UK National Police Stolen Property Database allowing them to identify you as the owner of the stolen property and return it to you."

LAW ENFORCEMENT USE
"Immobilise is now supported by all the UK forces including those in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland for the registration of mobile phones.
Immobilise is a highly cost effective method of driving down crime by advocating registration and then making it clear that items in a particular premise or vehicle have been registered. Remember registration is free for the public so there is no cost barrier to people registering their possessions.
Please click here to view a recent case study.
Please view the range of promotional items to back up any registration campaign and contact info@recipero.com for further help or advice.
Access to the Police search facility for Immobilise is free of charge it is paid for centrally via the Metropolitan Police force. However access is subject to the provision of a user name and password which can only be issued by Immobilise. Please note the Police search facility is not viewable via the Immobilise web site nor can you use an Immobilise user name or password for access to the system. For information about having access to the search facility please mail info@immobilise.com from your Police email."

I think this site is invaluable actually. As a youth worker I try and get the YP to register their expensive - parent bought - devices so if they get them lost or stolen they've half a chance of getting stuff returned to them.
Seeing as many YP treat their mobile devices like a pocket full of small change (leaving them lying around on chairs, tables, dropping them on floors etc), YP don't seem to have a concept on how much it costs to replace - because they don't have to replace them!!!
And it's not just for mobile phones, you can register your laptop, SatNav etc, we can't stop thefts and there's not enough police on the street, so here's a small way you can help.
I've copied and pasted this from their site:
Uniquely via your Immobilise account UK users can flag any registered item as lost or stolen and this appears, (complete with pictures if you have recorded them) on the UK National Police Stolen Property Database allowing them to identify you as the owner of the stolen property and return it to you. PLEASE NOTE REPORTING A MOBILE PHONE AS LOST OR STOLEN ON IMMOBILISE DOES NOT BLOCK THE IMEI OR SIM CARD TO DO THIS PLEASE REPORT IT TO YOUR NETWORK.
I think you should read their FAQ, About Us, How Immobalise Works and other info before thinking it's 'iffy'.
No one likes to be the victim of a theft, identity fraud or more but we can try and help ourselves.
