Aa the title says really, whats the best way to find a whole of market broker, is that what they are called? Just google 'mortgage broker' Is there any sort of things I should be looking for on a website? I'm completely new to this and have never contact a broker before, so any tips would be much appriecated.

You have independent mortgage advisers (fee based but refund commission if its payable and will consider non commission paying mortgages)
You have whole of market which can restrict their offerings. Typically it means not including non commission paying deals. Some can be panel based as well.
Lastly you have single tie (e.g. your bank).
Independents have a database at https://www.unbiased.co.uk You can filter by postcode and select mortgages. Many independents will work on whole of market basis as well if you dont want the fee option. However, medium to larger sized mortgages are nearly always better on fee basis (assuming fair fee).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The easiest way to find a mortgage advisor is to Google. Mortgage advisor.......................... ie 'morgage advisor blackwood' give them a ring and they will tell you whether or not they are whole of market. Most mortgage brokers who belong to a mortgage network will be whole of market, those who are tied to larger Estate Agents may be tied and only offer from a reduced panel of lenders. Ask the question i would imagine you will only have to make 2 calls at the most. Good LuckI am a Mortgage Advisor. You should note that this site does not check my status as a Mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as i follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser code of conduct.
