Apart from the obvious OpenOffice.Org as a free office package, has anybody looked at http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php This is Foxit Reader, a much faster PDF reader. I certainly prefer it to Adobe.

Also, http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm Real Alternative, a much faster play of RealMedia files, and a lot smaller download.

Also, you can get free older versions of Serif software such as PagePlus etc from http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/

Real alternative is better than the bloatware orginal I also use real quicktime

Oops yes sorry I meant quicktime alternative its based on media classic (M$) as is real alternative just with different codecs for each player

I installed Quicktime alternative a while ago but my daughter wanted to plpay one of her Disney games on CD and it wanted the original (bloatware) version installed.
I didn't have much choice really...
