Pension vs long term savings

Hi Martin and guys,
I am new here and have a question that I would like help with... My company went in to reicevership 2 years ago and my payments to my pension were stopped. I would like to know if I would get any benefit in putting the same amount of money into a 5 or 10 year sealed account rather than start another pension with my new firm:question:

I can't see any benefit as you would be losing both the new employer's contribution and tax relief.

Mind you, if you don't have 3-6 months in salary it is wise to get this sorted by saving. After that, it is wise to have both a pension and other savings.

If your new company offer you a pension with employer contributions, dont hesitate, grab it with both hands.

They are offering you free money on a monthly basis, dont even think about turning it down.
