Sanitary towels for a young girl

My daughter started her periods yesterday, and she is finding the regular sanitary towels very uncomfortable and bulky. Could anyone recommend anything suitable that would be a bit more slimline? She is 12, but very slim, and has been using the Always Normal pads that her sister uses.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

some of the natracare ones are quite slim, but it depends how much protection she needs at the moment?

Thanks for those links, balletshoes. I did a search but couldn't find any other threads when I looked! Some good suggestions, and I'll look for the natracare ones too. It didn't seem terribly heavy yesterday, and had gone very light overnight/this morning, but it is a bit early to say. I think I'll get a selection and let her try them.

I need to start getting prepared too by a read of those threads - my DD is 10 but her body has been developing for at least a year, so her first period could be coming along soon.

I never use anything but Natracare, they do lots of different types, I'm sure you'd find something suitable.

asdas do a teen range, I bought some for dd who's nearly 11, like others have said getting prepared and tucked them at the back of her wardrode.
