XBOX Live Gold Membership - 1 year

I think this is a kind of grab it, not sure where else to post it.
My OH has had his Xbox Live Gold 1 year membership set up on direct debit for the last few years, it's due to be renewed at the end of the month. Last night he rang them to say cancel his dd as we can't afford it this month and we'd buy it quaterly instead. The guy on the other end of the phone said that as OH has set up payments automatically by dd, and has for the last few years he could have the 1 year membership for 23.99 not 40.00. Obviously he accepted this price. Had OH not called them and just let the dd go out it would've been full price!
So if your membership is due to run out call them and see what they can offer.

Agree with the above, I called up and managed to get mine for 17 pounds for 12 months, ideally need to xbox customer direct and not through their third party card system ie) the xbox live cards which you can buy instores..:D0

Can you let me know which number you phoned?
I have recurring credit card payments for my sons xbox live and have been trying to cancel for ages.
Anytime i phone up i get held in a que for ages and dont actually get to speak to anyone
