Help me apply for a loan

Hi

I have applied for a personal loan with my bank. I have been with them for 15 years and they told me my account was going obsolete and I had to change it, which I did so the new account I have only had for approx 4 months. Now they tell me that I am not eligible for a loan with them.
So I tried Zopa who refused my loan. I went on check my file website and discovered that my score is 827 out of 1000 and that they say I should not have any problem in getting a loan.

Where can I go from here.

How much did you want to borrow?

How much do you earn? Are you employed or self-employed?
Are you on the electoral roll?
What debts do you have?
What open credit accounts do you have (eg unused credit cards, overdrafts etc)?

Credit scores only take into account your history of paying off credit products, they don't take into account things like your income, your perceived financial stability, your affordability for the new debt etc.

Zopa is pretty selective about who is acceptable so don't be discouraged by that. If the amount you're after is a few thousand Pounds, have you considered using a credit card 0% deal, that you might be able to get? To get some idea of that, try the Barclaycard pre-application check. That will tell you which of their cards they think you'd qualify for based on a quotation search only, not a full application search.
