NHS Dentist

Recently an old filing has begun to feel loose and chip; it was done about 6 years ago when I was 15 and living with Mum and Dad in another part of the country. Last night I was looking at the NHS site for local dentists taking on new NHS patients; in short, there were none. I decided to bite the bullet and go private, as I just want it sorted, and chose one thats near where I work.

I went in, registered, and got an appointment, all fine. I was asked if I was on any benefits, which i'm not, and got handed an NHS leaflet, with the receptionist indicating this is what I'd pay. I'm a touch confused, I was expecting to pay private prices, not NHS (not that i'm arguing!). Have I somehow managed to get an NHS dental appointment? Or do you think i'll end up paying more when I go for the appointment?

Phone up and ask! I have to say nhs websites should not be trusted as the information on them is often wrong or out of date and advise ringing surgeries up direct. So you may very well have a nhs appointment.
